Disclosure and independence

How VettedSaaS makes money, and the bright line that keeps it from touching the rankings. Affiliate links and paid placements are labeled. Scores are not for sale, ever.

Affiliate disclosure. VettedSaaS is reader supported. Some links on this site are affiliate or paid placement links, marked rel="sponsored". If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change what a tool scores or where it ranks.

We are an independent software comparison hub. We earn in two ways, and we would rather tell you about both up front than have you wonder. The first is affiliate commissions: when a reader buys through some of our links, the vendor pays us a referral fee. The second is clearly labeled paid placements, which advertisers arrange on our advertise page.

Both depend on the same thing: the site being genuinely independent. The moment a ranking can be bought, the recommendation is worthless, and so is the business. So the wall between the two is absolute. Editorial decides what is good. Commercial can buy visibility, never a verdict.

The line we hold

What money can and cannot buy.

What a placement buys
+A clearly labeled listing or link in a sponsored slot
+A spot on the advertise page audience
+rel="sponsored" attribution on the link, as the rules require
What it never buys
A rank, a position, or a score in any ranking
A kinder verdict or a removed criticism
A place inside an editorial best of list
Influence over which tools we cover or how we test them

How you can tell

Sponsored elements carry a visible tag in muted type, never the accent color we reserve for editorial scores. Affiliate and paid links carry rel="sponsored", and the affiliate disclosure sits near the first such link on every page that has one. The footer of every page restates the basics. If something is paid, it says so where you can see it.

If we get it wrong

We correct in public. Pricing and features move, and sometimes our read of a tool does too. Every commercial page is dated, and when the facts change the verdict changes with them. To advertise within these rules, see the advertise page. To understand the scoring, read how we vet.
