Klaviyo SMS is not a standalone texting tool, it is a channel inside Klaviyo's customer data and email platform. That is its biggest strength: SMS draws on the same profiles, segments and automated flows as email, so an abandoned cart or welcome series can hit both channels with shared logic and one set of analytics. For ecommerce brands already on Klaviyo, adding SMS is close to frictionless. The tradeoffs are pricing and fit. Klaviyo bills by active profiles and sells SMS as credits that do not roll over, US credits settle near a cent each at volume, international rates run several times higher, and the value really only lands if you are an ecommerce brand using Klaviyo email too.
