Tally

The free plan that is hard to argue with, from a small independent team.

Tally turned the usual model upside down: unlimited forms, unlimited submissions and most features are free, with paid plans reserved for branding removal, custom domains and a few business extras. The editor feels like a clean document, the forms look modern, and conditional logic, payments and file uploads all work on the free tier. For a bootstrapped company the breadth is remarkable. The limits show up only in advanced controls and the depth of calculations versus a Jotform or Cognito Forms.

What we found

In its favour

+ Unlimited forms and submissions are free, along with most of the feature set.
+ A clean, document style editor produces modern looking forms with little effort.
+ Conditional logic, payments, file uploads and signatures all work on the free plan.
+ Pro is among the cheapest paid tiers in the category at $29 per month.

Held against it

Calculations and advanced logic are lighter than Jotform or Cognito Forms.
It is run by a small independent team, so the roadmap and support are leaner.
Branding removal, custom domains and CSS require the paid Pro plan.
Native integrations are fewer, leaning on Zapier and Make for some workflows.
The scorecard

Free that actually delivers

Tally tops the category on value by a wide margin and scores well on ease of use and respondent feel. It is held back only on feature depth and integrations, where the bigger, better funded tools still lead.
