Google Forms
Free, instant, and good enough for most quick collection jobs.
Google Forms is hard to argue with for speed and price. It is free with a personal account, opens in seconds, and pipes responses straight into Sheets where the rest of your analysis already lives. What you give up is depth: branding control, layout freedom, payments, and advanced logic are thin or missing. For a quick poll, signup, or internal request it is the obvious choice; for a polished public facing form it is not.
Google Forms has no affiliate program, so the link below goes straight to the vendor and earns us nothing. Our score is editorial. Disclosure.
It costs nothing and starts in seconds, and you can feel where the corners were cut.

Held against it
Unbeatable on price, thin on polish
Google Forms scores at the top for value and ease of use and near the bottom for features and respondent experience. That spread is the whole story: it is the right tool when free and fast outweigh control and design.
Scored against the same five weighted criteria we use across form builders. See the rubric →
collecting simple responses, running an internal signup, or already living in Google Workspace and Sheets.
you need payments, real design control, or a polished public form that reflects your brand.
