SurveyMonkey
The research specialist, when a survey needs real analysis behind it.
SurveyMonkey is built for people who run surveys for a living. Deep question logic, cross tabs, benchmarks, and a panel you can buy responses from put it ahead of general builders for formal research. It is less suited to order forms or payment collection, and the pricing leans toward annual team plans with response caps that add up. As a survey and feedback tool it is strong; as a do everything form builder it is narrower than the all rounders.

It treats a survey as research, not just a form with questions.

Held against it
Strong for research, narrow for the rest
SurveyMonkey scores well on logic and integrations and fairly on ease of use. Value is the drag, since serious use means annual team plans and response overages. The narrow focus is a feature for researchers and a limit for everyone else.
Scored against the same five weighted criteria we use across form builders. See the rubric →
running formal surveys that need cross tabs, benchmarking, or bought panel responses.
you mainly need order forms, payments, or a low cost general builder for everyday forms.
